Emmy and Raffi's Intimate Fountain Pointe Wedding

When working with such kind and down to earth people such as Emmy and Raffi, it makes the process of creating custom invitations an absolute dream. They had a simple and laid back vision for their early summer Michigan wedding, making it that much more fun bringing it to life.

This suite was extra special for me on a personal level, as Emmy is both a childhood friend and a fellow Traverse City native. Funny enough, her and now husband Raffi both grew up in Traverse City but didn’t know each other until they met while they were both living in DC!

When they were in the beginning stages of planning their wedding and deciding on what it would look and feel like, the main thing Emmy and Raffi wanted was for their guests to have the best time possible while feeling comfortable and relaxed. They chose the Fountain Point Resort in Leland, MI as their wedding venue because to them it felt like the most quintessential Michigan location that they could hope for. Nestled along the lush wooded shores of Lake Leelanau, the Fountain Point Resort was the perfect weekend getaway for both of their families to come together and have fun while celebrating the love of these two amazing people.

As we started designing their custom wedding invitation suite, it was so much fun seeing that relaxed wedding philosophy come to life. We started it all with their incredibly personal save the dates, featuring the sweetest custom portraits I have done yet.
For the invitation suite, we drew completely from the beautiful aesthetic of Northern Michigan and the Fountain Point Resort. Plenty of organic watercolor greenery with a sweet illustration of the venue was all that was needed to set the tone for their easy going summer wedding.

Another important part of Emmy and Raffi’s wedding was combining their Jewish and Christian faiths to create a uniquely traditional and personal wedding ceremony.
One of our favorite pieces that we had the pleasure of working on was their custom Ketubah (a very special and traditional jewish wedding agreement). We incorporated elements from both Raffi’s parent’s Ketubah and Emmy’s parents wedding invitations, as well as artwork from Emmy and Raffi’s invitation suite. It was an extremely special piece to work on, and definitely something I will always treasure being a small part of.

I’m so glad that I not only had the chance to reconnect with an old friend but simultaneously was able to work on one of my favorite suites this year. Between illustrating her and Raffi for their fun and personal save-the-dates, to laying down the watercolor venue painting for their Invitation suite, every step of working with Emmy was an absolutely wonderful experience.

I just know that their infectious kindness and genuine spirits will guide through many years of happiness and love. Cheers to Emmy and Raffi!

Lauren and David's Felt Mansion Wedding

Sometimes it feels like I truly cannot say enough positive, glowing things about the Bride's I get to work with. My heart feels SO full when I get to open a folder of photos from a wedding that, when the process of creating invitations begins, was just a vision. A color palette, a location, a date. Seeing it all come together is a warm blessing, and always makes me feel grateful that I had the opportunity to be a part of it.

Looking through the photos from this particular wedding day was an absolute joy. I couldn't help smiling (....and even tearing up a bit?...) from every single picture, taken by the immensely talented Abbey Moore Photography. She was able to perfectly capture an incredible amount of love and happiness in such a beautiful and organic way.

The whole process for creating Lauren's custom invitation suite and wedding day pieces began with the clear vision she had for her wedding. Elegant and romantic while still feeling organic, with touches of vintage inspiration.
The choice to use both letterpress and digital printing makes the suite feel extra special. Specifically the watercolor greenery surrounding the gray letterpress illustration of the wedding venue, the Felt Mansion, is one of our favorite parts of the whole suite. Lauren wanted all of the greenery pieces to feel natural in movement, and we were so over the moon with how it turned out.
Wrapping the whole ensemble together in a thin dusty blue silk ribbon and custom wax seal is the final touch of vintage whimsy on this incredibly romantic invitation suite.

I don't think it's possible to explain how hard it was to narrow down the amount of pictures I wanted to post of these two. Every single photo was more beautiful than the last. There is just SO much love here, and it truly radiates. These are the photos that every person dreams of having of their wedding day. My heart is so full, and again, how amazing is Abbey Moore Photography??????

Along with designing Lauren's invitation suite, we were also lucky enough to work on several charming day-of pieces for her. The little labels for her macaron favor boxes are maybe one of the cutest day-of pieces we've ever worked on.
We incorporated different greenery artwork from her invitations to make all of her paper goods cohesive and familiar. Even on smaller pieces like the dessert and place cards, a tiny bit of greenery is just the right amount to make it feel extra special.
Speaking of dessert cards, can we all marvel at how absolutely spectacular this dessert table and spread of treats look?!? Be still my heart...

If it feels like I spent the majority of this post gushing, then you are spot on.
From the very beginning of working with Lauren on her suite, I knew it was going to be a fantastic experience. Working with her and her incredible planner Michelle, was an absolute dream.

If Lauren and David's wedding photos are any indication of the future ahead, I know it will be filled with an infinite amount of love and laughter and support and warmth. I wish them nothing less than all of that and more!
