Sweet Seventies Summer Styled Shoot

The most charming yellow house and vintage station wagon provided the perfect setting for this relaxed and bright styled photoshoot in Northport, Michigan. The shoot was inspired by the romance and vintage flare of the 1970's, and included relaxed summery details mixed with elegant, refined accents.

The wedding invitation suite included a mix of colorful hand-painted watercolor florals and watercolor washes as well as a stylized watercolor map of the Leelanau Peninsula. The invitations were lettered with a mix of brush calligraphy and pointed pen calligraphy was highlighted by a custom floral watercolor envelope insert.

The tables were set with beautiful, classic cotton linens mixed with fun vintage details and gold accents. The menus featured a mix of pointed pen calligraphy and colorful watercolor florals, and were set against the stunning backdrop of florals created by Bloom Floral Design.

The white trellis set against the charming, yellow shake shingle cottage provided a unique display for the escort cards.

The entire shoot left us craving more long summer days and sweet summer romance.

A huge thank you to Ashley Slater Photography for the stunning images, and to Sincerely, Ginger Weddings for creating such a beautiful shoot.

Maitland & Justin's Rustic Vintage Wedding

Back in the spring of 2014, Maitland approached me about creating a custom wedding invitation suite for her upcoming fall wedding. I didn't know it at the time, but Maitland would become my very first Sable & Gray bride! I am so thankful to her for believing in my very new business, and trusting my vision for her invitations. She was so wonderful to work with, and I couldn't be happier with the way her invitation suite turned out.

Maitland and Justin's gorgeous, vintage-inspired wedding was set in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. The first hints of autumn colors in the Appalachian Mountains provided the perfect backdrop for their beautiful, fall wedding. With touches of vintage lace, burlap, twigs, and pops of turquoise from scattered mason jars, their wedding was both rustic and intimate, with thought put into every last detail.

The custom-designed wedding invitation suite that I designed for their wedding featured hand-drawn vintage lace details, letterpress printed in two colors on heavy, cotton card stock.

Their custom-designed marriage certificate that I designed for their wedding added a beautiful, personal touch to the ceremony, and was hung in their home after the ceremony.

Maitland and Justin said their vows in the beautiful, quaint Palmer Chapel in Waynesville, North Carolina. And how cute are the bridesmaids in their matching lace dresses, denim jackets, and leather cowboy boots?

Maitland's bouquet featured preserved flowers in neutral tones, wrapped in lace and burlap, which perfectly complimented the rustic feel of their wedding decor.

Maitland and Justins Wedding

Their wedding cake added the perfect touch of rustic whimsy to their vintage decor, and featured an adorable custom monogram cake topper.

Since their wedding day, Maitland and Justin have opened their own custom auto body shop, Demos Diesel. This is such a sweet photo of the newlyweds, capturing their shared love for trucks, and for each other.

Congratulations Maitland and Justin! I couldn't be happier for you two love birds!
