On a warm spring morning in the mountains of Western North Carolina, Cortney Jackson of Asheville Event Co. began setting the table: placing antique china, ornate gold flatware, and hand-lettered watercolor place cards at each seat; lining the center of the table with gorgeous red flowers, ivory tapered candles, and pheasant feather accents. This was just the beginning of the stunningly beautiful styled shoot that would be photographed by Perry Vaile for the very first Carolina Bride Book.
Everything from the antique tea sets, to the golden chickens running around the Lonesome Valley yard created an atmosphere that brought you back to simpler times; thoughts of sitting on the porch of an old English farm, looking out at the rolling hills; of picking wildflowers in an open field; of gathering around a rustic farm table with your close family and friends to celebrate love and happiness. Cortney did a wonderful job of creating this nostalgic atmosphere while also making the concept feel fresh and current.
For the photo shoot, we created a custom wedding invitation suite featuring hand lettered watercolor calligraphy, hand painted watercolor floral designs, and laser cut details that revealed copper foil underlay with hand painted watercolor guest addressing. We also created custom signage which featured royal blue text and copper foil accents, as well as hand painted and hand lettered custom place cards. This was such a fun design to create and such a rewarding project to be a part of!
