Well hello there! It’s been awhile!
We’ve been spending the season not only wrapping up some truly amazing projects, but also taking some time to get out and dip our toes in yet another beautiful Northern Michigan summer. The water is just now warming up to a temperature that doesn’t take your breath away, and we’ve been having a blast soaking it all up. We’ve also had a chance to get out and explore in the name of work, plucking stones from the coastline for some special upcoming day-of pieces. But more on that some other time….
For now, we’re still trying to wrap our heads around the amazing suite and day-of pieces that we had the pleasure of working on for (now newlyweds!) Stuart and Will. We could go on for several paragraphs about how great of an experience it was working on these unique custom pieces. (And judging by these stunning photos by Rob + Kristin Photography, it seems that vibrant spirit was alive in every detail of their big day.)
When it came to choosing print methods and extra details for the invitations, we were so thrilled that Stuart wanted to get adventurous and bold. The result was a gorgeous double thick invitation, complete with BOTH gold and silver foil printing, making this invite truly stand out.
The atmosphere of the suite as a whole was tied together with whimsical elements like the full watercolor custom map and a sweet custom crest that included their bright-eyed pup, Jasper, all bound with a stunning mint colored silk ribbon. The combination of unique colors and printing methods really set this suite apart from the crowd.
When it came time to design their day-of pieces, Stuart carried over the same unique and fun spirit that she had for her invitations. We had so much fun incorporating elements from her suite alongside original pieces.
One of the stand-outs of her day-of pieces were the hand painted preserved magnolia leaves that we made for her place cards. There is something about seeing those dark leaves adorned with vibrant gold calligraphy that just pops out from the entire place setting. All that gold and blue and green is just making our hearts swoon.
You can see more photos of the day of pieces in our portfolio, here.
We completely loved working with Stuart, and the opportunity to bring some really unique and bold ideas to life in such a stunning way. This suite and day-ofs serve as a great reminder that dark colors can be airy and vibrant, that gold and silver make a great team, and that by combining print methods, colors and illustrated elements, you can create a suite that is completely personal and one of a kind.
